Over the last few months a team of tenants, board members and staff have been working together to look at how we can introduce Tenant Scrutiny across the Group.
In the past social landlords, like Three Rivers and Berwick Borough Housing, were held to account by the housing regulator. Going forward it is down to housing organisations and their tenants to make sure they shape and improve service delivery.
All social housing landlords now have to be more pro active around involving their tenants. Tenant Scrutiny aims to give tenants more power in holding their landlord to account for performance and around setting priorities and recommending improvements.
We want to make sure that we get our approach to Tenant Scrutiny right so we will be coming out to consult with tenants and tenant groups over the next few months about the project. We will update you on progress in the next edition of the Bridge but if you have any queries or want to let us have your views contact Gillian Buchan on 08000 461 451 or Gareth Heslington on 08000 461 452. |
