Our Board
The Board of Four Housing Group is made up of members that have been chosen for their housing and community of business expertise.

Peter Gavin Peter Gavin  Chair of Four Housing Group, Three Rivers Housing Association and Berwick Borough Housing
Elected as Chair of Four Housing Group in March 2008. Retired NHS Director of Finance and Trust Board Secretary. President of the Northern Counties Society of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants 2000-2002. Trustee of the Children's Foundation (Yellow Brick Road Appeal).

Bill Worth Bill Worth  Board Member and Vice Chair of Four Housing Group, Three Rivers Housing Association and Berwick Borough Housing
Bill spent his professional life in NHS management and held senior posts in Birmingham, Liverpool, Gateshead and South Tyneside Health Authorities before becoming Chief Executive of North Durham NHS Trust in 1997. He retired in 2001 and has since undertaken a range of voluntary roles. He was chair of Governors of Durham Johnston School for several years and is currently Chair of Governors of the Meadows School at Spennymoor. Bill is also chair of Gateshead Nursing Home (Craigielea) and the Northern Neurological alliance. For some years he was both chair and a trustee of the Northern Pinetree Trust.

Steve Anderson Steve Anderson  Board Member and Chair of Audit
Retired Finance Director of South Tees NHS Trust. Prior to that, Steve worked for South Tees Health Authority. Coopers and Lybrand as a Management Consultant, water authorities in Wales and North West. He started his career in local government. A founding member of the ‘Free From Pain’ charity in Teesside. Board member of the Families Talking Charity. Steve is also the Group’s nominee to sit on the Board of Three Rivers Housing Association.

Joanne Douglas Joanne Douglas  Board Member
Joanne has been a resident on the Prior Park Estate in Tweedmouth for just over 10 years. She lives with her son and works part time for a local electrical retailer. Joanne is also a member of the Prior Park Residents Association and has enjoyed getting to know Berwick Borough Housing and becoming a Tenant Board Member.

Isabel joined the Board in May 2012. Isabel has been elected Berwick upon Tweed Town Mayor, she is a member of Northumberland County Council, Governor of Berwick Academy and Chair of Prior Park 1st School Governors. Isabel was previously Leader of the former Berwick Borough Council and played a key role in the transfer of the housing stock to Berwick Borough Housing in 2008.

Sarah Green Sarah Green  Board Member
Member Relations Director (Regions and Nations) of the CBI. She previously held the position of Director of the North East Region of CBI. Sarah was also Internal and E-Communications Manager at One NorthEast.

Hilary Parker Hilary Parker  Board Member
Partner at a law firm in Newcastle and is a former law lecturer at Hull and Newcastle Universities. Non-Executive Director of the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Hilary is the Chair of the University Development Trust which is a charity supporting the work of Newcastle University.

David Walker David Walker  Board Member
David is an experienced development and regeneration practitioner. David is the former Chief Executive of Sunderland arc, the urban regeneration company. David currently works for Keepmoat, specialising in partnerships and development finance. Prior to this David was a construction consultant with Faithful & Gould and Turner & Townsend.

Barbara Dennis Barbara Dennis  Board Member
Barbara is Managing Director of P Three a company she founded in 2004. Barbara is Chair of Gateshead Housing Company, as well as board trustee of the Percy Hedley Foundation and Chair of the Chartered Institute of Management (North East & York and Humberside Region). In 2002 Barbara was awarded the OBE for her services to economic and social regeneration. In 2009, she became Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Tyne and Wear.

How to become an Independent Board Member
Independent Board members are non-Group tenants.

Independent members bring a range of professional skills to the Board. This could include finance, business, development, housing, legal or technical. To comply with good governance, it is a requirement for the Group to keep the right balance of skills and experience on the three Boards.

How to become a Tenant Board Member
You must be a tenant of Three Rivers Housing or Berwick Borough Housing.

You must have maintained your tenancy to a high standard and the company is not taking any formal action against you for rent arrears recovery, unacceptable behaviour etc.

All potential Tenant Board Members must are aware of the roles and responsibilities of becoming a Board member.

It is important to be aware that a Tenant Board Member is not on the Board to represent tenants; instead they provide a tenant view on Board discussions and the future direction of the company.
